Welcome Nancy Wilson, Junior Graphic Designer
Kleidon & Associates welcomes Nancy Wilson to its program as a junior graphic designer. Currently a senior studying visual communication design at Kent State University, Nancy will be graduating this December with the experience of three internships and a club leadership role. She feels fortunate to have been given so many opportunities throughout her college career that will enable her to become a great leader and worker. Her positive and hard-working demeanor make her a great fit for Kleidon and its clients.
What brought you to Kleidon & Associates?
In my last semester of schooling, I could have gone and worked at Target or the pizza place down the road, but where would that have got me? You should always have a desire to further yourself and your career, and Kleidon gave me that opportunity. Here at Kleidon, I’m engaging with professionals and building my portfolio before graduation, and I couldn’t ask for anything more!
What’s your favorite font?
and
If you were a Pantone color, which color would you be?
What design sin makes you cringe the most?
When there’s too many colors or too much clutter on a page.
What social media platforms top your list right now?
Instagram and Twitter.
What’s your secret talent?
Singing. I first started out with country, but then evolved into more of an indie-pop style. I write my own lyrics and recently recorded my first single in Nashville.
What’s a little-known fact about you?
I was a semi-finalist for American Idol in 2014
When you were a kid, what did you think you would do when you grew up?
Become a singer or an artist.
Three things you can’t live without?
Spotify, tea and hair conditioner.
What’s the most important thing you have learned in college so far?
To have fun, but not be afraid to work more than you would expect to. You can always make time for fun if you want to, but it’s hard to make extra time for work.
Why should brands invest in design?
Design is EVERYTHING to a brand. It describes their personality and it gives them a voice. Without design, everyone would walk right past your product.
What brand or organizations would be your dream client — and why?
I have a few, actually. I would love to work for Target, Spotify, or Warner Brothers Records. Target is always thinking outside the box for being a retail store, Spotify is always onto the next trend in music, and Warner Brothers signs the best artists around.
What are three things you want to learn / learn more about during your internship?
Website building, client interaction and the process of a finished design becoming a printed piece.
